Brian Bordello of Necromantik Sunshine - Interviewed by Christine Death

I really enjoy your new album "Pain of Pleasure!" It reminds me of old school death rock with an electronic edge. What are your favorite tracks on this CD?

I guess my favorites are Lonely and Shedding Skin because I wrote them on a personal level but I feel all of them reflect myself in an odd sort of way. Some of the songs can date back 4 years and some are as recent as 2000. So everyday my feelings change about which are my favorites.

What gives you inspiration?

Inspiration: I love music! Goth, punk, industrial, metal, 80's, experimental. Etc... I am fascinated with dreams, death, religion, pain, suffering, books, literature, again etc...

Where do you see Necromantik Sunshine going in the future musically?

I hope to find N.S. more established in the future and would like to become a great group to touch people just like many bands have touched and inspired me and the rest of the group.

As an artist, what is the most rewarding thing?

I am happy for all our releases on compilations and currently recording our new album. I guess when fans send mail complimenting on us it does really feel good to know that there are people out there that are influenced by a group, as once was I.

How would you describe your music?

I would say that a majority of our music is very influenced off of early 80's Goth style groups but we made a modern sound. (Very Deathrockish) The lyrics are brutal, yet honest to help describe every emotion what lies within us all.

What does "Necromantik Sunshine" mean to you?

A passage to another place and time! Of course it is a fun band to be in and rock with. Hopefully we can last 4ever creating, and creating, and "create something new". (shedding skin)

Do you think having your music available via the Internet has made a difference in getting your music heard?

Definitely!

Any tour dates in the future? Local or abroad?

Right now we are finishing up a deal with a European label and we plan on doing some festivals over there and also tour. As for the great USA we are hoping to do a tour over here by fall/winter.

What is your favorite food?

BEER and I guess anything spicy.
