Which artists influence you and why?

Going all the way back, Kiss was my first big influence. I was very young and I was fascinated by their outfits and the make-up. Plus, they had some really great melodies with some dark overtones... I first started to listen to underground music around the age of 14. I discovered acts like iron Maiden, Minor Threat and the Misfits and fell in love! I guess that a lot of punk and metal from that time influenced me along with great local acts like Hedonistic Cravings who I used to see pretty regularly.
What gives you inspiration to create, heart break, happiness, fluffy bunnies?
I'd blame inspiration on just about everything that ever happens to me. Losing someone one way or another is always a catalyst for creativity... Also, other forms of art can be inspiring. Sometimes seeing a good film will spark something.
As artists, what is the most rewarding?
Good friends and travel! Though the van does get a little on the smelly side from time to time. Ah well, what more could we expect.
What is your most memorable moment while touring?
There are a ton of them... hmmmmm. Bn was sick and needed toilet paper once and was asking which pages of the atlas we didn't need because we were miles from the next bathroom. We chose Hawaii and Alaska. Also, playing jokes on the guys in The Last Dance and having them return the far is always excellent!
You are able to be both deathrock and synth-pop at the same time.
Will your future material be more punk influenced or synth-poppy?
It's hard to tell. Actually, I'm seeing some metal creeping into our sound here and there. I think that our music will always be very diverse and may not ever lean completely one way.
What instruments and equipment do you use?
The same old boring stuff... computers, synths, guitars... In the studio we have an unlimited supply of top end synths to write with but when we hit the road we take Reason and a couple of midi synths.
Not to shatter your rock star personas, but what are your day jobs?
Everyone does the band full time now, but sometimes we pick up odd jobs for some extra cash! Rock star persona??? Where? I want one! :)
When did you start playing your musical instrument(s)? Was is self-taught or did you take lessons?
I picked up piano when I was very young and guitar and drums around the age of 15. I've been singing since I was very young and took opera lessons for around 5 years as well. Most of what I've learned on guitar and drums was self-taught.
Read any good books lately?
Yes! Somewhere in Time ( Bid Time Return) by Richard Matheson and I Am Legend by the same guy. Also, Abarat is an excellent new one from Clive Barker. Right now I'm reading The Time Machine by H G Wells.
If Spiderman and Batman had a fight, who would win?
I think Batman would outsmart the poor guy...
Additional comments?
Nah, it'd be a bunch of pointless rambling about horror films or something anyway...
