Band stats: Where are you from, who are the band members, how long you've
been together?
See our biography: www.69eyes.com
(stats based on bio page: Helsinki, Finland, Jyrki - vocals, Bazie - guitar, Timo-Timo - guitar, Archzie - bass, Jussi 69 - drums, about a decade.)
Who is the songwriter of the band and how is a song usually formed?
The both guitarists Bazie and Timo-Timo come up with some riffs and a loose song structure and I join them with a vocal melody line, usually a chorus and if it works right away, it's usually worth producing further.
Which artists influence you and why?
As a teenager I was always fascinated by the bands which had the sickest, mysterious names and wear in black and used sunglasses after dark - bands like the Cramps, the Gun Club, the Fuzztones, Sisters Of Mercy etc. I'm still on the same way - I became like my heroes.
Where do you see The 69 Eyes going in the future musically?
Our latest album "Paris Kills"(2002) was as Goth-pop sounding as possible for us and it really broke us through in Europe - the album is getting Platinum here in Finland! The next album we would like be more heavier, more guitars!
What are your opinions on mp3s and/or streaming audio?
Makes music to spread faster!
Do you plan on touring the US?
We're hangin' out in Hollywood in the beginning of 2003, hopefully playing there before the next year!
What is your impression of the US Music scene?
You need Scandinavian coolness like us.
What is your favorite food?
Sushi.
